Can you name this movie in 5 notes? This is Devils Tower National Monument in Wyoming and yes, its biggest claim to fame is the setting of Close Encounters of the Third Kind movie from my childhood. I had the opportunity to visit this epic location while traveling in nearby South Dakota. My brother and I did the shorter hike around the base of the mountain and then had lunch with our mom and his wife from this vantage point afterwards. I did take some zoomed in shots of climbers on the mountain and the birds of prey circling above, but this angle shows that iconic shape best.
