Roaring 20s

As we entered the 2020’s, it was interesting to look back on what we called the roaring 20’s from a century ago. The fashion of the speakeasy. This image was produced for an ad campaign for the May 2020 issue of Luxe Magazine. We wanted to revisit that time and recreate this aesthetic. My first mission was to find the right model and the right dress for the ‘flapper girl’ look. I chose model Amy Wicker, who I had worked with on several previous projects and luckily she was available and loved the concept. For the dress, I reached out to my contact at Randall Designs who does the celebrity dresses for ‘Dancing With The Stars.’ Amy and I went to their studio to get fitted for the dress (several dresses actually) and they were absolutely perfect. We shot the images at Creative Designs in Lighting’s Scottsdale studio where the massive chandelier was hanging for a priceless backdrop and we still had the frame from a previous shoot with a ballerina. The blocks that Amy is standing on as she steps through the frame are end tables at CDL’s studio. Everything worked out elegantly to complete this image for Luxe Magazine.
