At the entry to Estrella Mountain Ranch is a unique hidden gem of Arizona called the Estrella Star Tower. The spiral-shaped structure was designed by local astronomer Steven Kates and the surrounding landscape was designed by Greey Pickett with water feature streams, trees, and native cactus. Visitors can climb the spiral staircase, illuminated with only red light to help eyes adjust to the nighttime sky. The 50-foot climb to the top is rewarded with views of the stars above and the beauty of Estrella Mountain Regional Park. Fiber optic starfield lighting on the tower makes it sparkle like a jewel in the desert.
